Powell|I bought a used copy of this book here on and found that it is a mine of information, though perhaps not as exhaustive as some guides in this series; China is just too massive and too old--you'd need a 5 volume Blue Guide to cover it in minute detail. Also, this is not the guide you use to find the local party|About the Author|Frances Wood is head of the Chinese Collections at the British Library.
