Movses Khorenats'i was an excellent historian, careful for accuracy and consulting official archives and records whenever possible. The translated text is an invaluable historical source.

But the translator and his footnotes are unbearable. For hundreds of pages in the|Language Notes|Text: English, Armenian (translation)|About the Author|Robert W. Thomson was Mashtots Professor of Armenian Studies, Harvard University.
