As one who has also extensively traveled through Asia and lived and worked in Asia, and a reader of many travel books, this book was deplorable.

First off the writing style reminds me of a 5th grader.

Second of all, I can paraphrase the book righ

This story is about a 60 year old single man's fun day-to-day completely unplanned, "didn't know what I was doing that day until I woke up", journey from Bangkok, Thailand through Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Myanmar travelling 70% by bus, 20% by plane, 10% by boat and finally home after 99 days with the only companion a traveller needs or could wish for; "A Lonely Planet Guide Book."
