Most maps are either only in English (Romaji) or only in Japanese (Kanji), but this has both so that users can both pronounce the names of places if they don't speak Japanese, but also be able to match the characters (Kanji) with signs, etc when they're out and about. I took it pre|About the Author|Atsushi Umeda is a Kodansha author.
