I initially found this book after watching a documentary featuring one of the authors, Tim, as he journeyed across the central Asian steppe on a horse. He referred to the journey documented in this book in the introduction so I decid|About the Author|Tim Cope has written travel pieces for newspapers & magazines, & had many of his photographs published. Chris Hatherley received the 1997 Australian Geographic Young Adventurer of the Year award for his around Australia ride.
It was one of those moments when you become so deeply involved with the experience that you begin to blend with the dirt.
This is the story of two twenty year old boys who travel on recumbent bicycles from Russia, across Siberia, the Gobi Desert, Mongolia to Beijing, in China. The journey takes fourteen months to complete across some of the world's most hard-to-access terrain.
